Snow Polo under fairytale conditions - The fight for the trophy just began

The 21st Bendura Bank Snow Polo World Cup 2024 was opened last night with the presentation of the players in downtown Kitzbühel. In front of the hotel “Goldener Greif” in the city center the teams were announced to the public.

The eight teams played their first games for the desired trophy of the Bendura Bank Snow Polo World Cup today with the sun shining and under perfect conditions.

The French team Veuve Clicquot and defending champion team Intocast with their Austrian teamcaptain Matthias Normann opened the tournament. Matthias Normann seems to have big plans for this year as Team Intocast wins the first game of the tournament with 9 to 5 goals and therefor plays the semifinal for the Bendura Bank Snow Polo World Cup tomorrow. “We want to defend the title, which will be very difficult this year. Therefor we are very happy that we could win the first game against a strong team with Patrick Paillol. My player just played the second time on snow”  reveald Matthias Norman after his game.

The second game was a bit closer as only half a goal made the difference between Team Engel & Völkers (3) with teamcaptain Jan-Hendrik Többe and Team World Polo League (2 ½) with the Spanish player Maria Curtichs.

In the second part of the schedule team BOOOST (TC Peter Cromm) and team Casablanca (TC Glenn Lostritto) met each other on the field. As team BOOOST has a higher handicap (12 – Casablanca 11), team Casablanca started the game with half a goal advantage. In the end team BOOOST was able to secure a win with 6 to 3 ½ goals.

In the last game of the day team Bentley with Melissa Ganzi and team Bendura Bank, in which organizer Tito Gaudenzi is playing, competed against each other. Which team will play the semifinals for the Bendura Bank World Cuo and which team will have to play for the runners up cup, the Kitzbühel Cup? With Alejandro Novillo Astrada and Martina Juaregui Melissa Ganzi managed to win 11 to 7 ½ and thus will play against team BOOOST tomorrow.

The entrée to the public area is free. Tickets for the VIP-tent incl. food and beverage can be purchased online under https://kitzbuehelpolo.ticket.io/ or at the checkout at the venue.
